David Kaplan: Yes

Scenario

Mismatched cousins reunite for a tour of Poland to honor the memory of their beloved grandmother. The adventure takes a second turn when the odd couple’s old contradictions surface against the background of their family history. When Benjy and David visit their grandmother’s house in Poland, this is the place where Jesse Eisenberg’s real ancestors settled in the diaspora. Benji Kaplan: Let’s keep moving, stay light, stay flexible. Benji Kaplan: The conductor will pass, take the tickets, we will tell him that we are going to the toilet. David Kaplan: Bathroom. Benji Kaplan: sits at the tail of the train and heads forward in search of those left behind.

This is our country

David Kaplan: Sorry, are we late? Benji Kaplan: Yes, when the train reaches the front, it will be at the station, and we will be free. David Kaplan: That’s bloody stupid. Tickets cost probably twelve dollars. Benji Kaplan: That’s the principle. We will not have to pay for train tickets in Poland. David Kaplan: No, it was our country.

They kicked us out because they thought we were stingy. 12 Etudes, Op. 25, n. 3 in F major Author Frederic Chopin Performed by Zvi Erez. I think the only reason I went to see this movie was because of Kieran Culkin. What can I say, I love Legacy. And I definitely got more than I originally expected.

Both actors do a great job with their roles, especially Culkin

It’s clear that this movie was written from the heart, and Jesse Eisenberg’s script is certainly strong, with great dialogue and consistently different interpretations of the phrase “Real pain.” Benjy and David have very exciting storylines, and the rest of the characters, although not three-dimensional, are given enough time to show themselves, especially James. As for the direction, Jesse Eisenberg did a good job in his debut. The film is well shot, and although it lacks variety, it evokes a simple yet realistic tone. Eisenberg makes a strong case, and I think he does it well. I am amazed at some of the things that he managed to dream in nature, which makes some emotions even stronger. But, of course, the strongest point of this film is the play and dynamic between Eisenberg and Culkin. Benjy’s character is truly endearing throughout the film, as the audience constantly sees the results of his pain, and David’s reaction to them further strengthens their bond.

Overall, I liked this movie

Despite the fact that in this film they are cousins, they really feel like reunited brothers. I doubt that he will impress anyone, and there are no moments of extreme catharsis in him, but everything he does, he does pretty well. Check it out if you can.
